Autumn Cards **Makin's Clay & Beacon & Rinea & Canvas Corp**

I wanted to make a couple of cards for the autumn season, a bit into Thanksgiving, to have on hand in case I wanted to give a card out during this time.

I wanted to create a simple card that just really made the leaves and the feeling of fall stand out.  I did not add much to them, but simple foils leaves and a little clay figure on a clip in complementary colors.  The card base really does all the work as it is a pre-stitiched canvas or burlap card on a neutral color, so easy to make an elegant card with!!  Here is my video tutorial on how to make these cards.

Here are some close up pictures of these cards.

I just love these little owl and turkey cutters!!

Happy fall!!

DIY Mini Decorative File Folders **Canvas Corp**

Shannon Green challenged me to create my own file folder, but put my own twist on it.  So i modeled it after the file folders that Canvas Corp makes that are 4 x 6 inches and in various solid colors.  I took mine a step further and made them in heavy duty scrapbook paper and now they are ready to make a mini book!!

Here is a video tutorial on how to make these fun folders!

I used the new paper from Canvas corp that in my mind were meant to make these fun file folders!!!

Happy Halloween Mixed Media Junk Journal **Tattered Angels & Canvas Corp & 7 Gypsies & Brutus Monroe & Rinea & Eyelet Outlet & Beacon**

I love to make these fun little mixed media mini junk journals filled with layers of items from around my craft room.  This one is all about Halloween.  I used up some old charms I have had forever, papers, mists, stamps, and so much more.  It really gets my creative juices going and it is fun to turn the page and great to create something brand new!!  I even left space to journal or add pictures!!

Here is a video tutorial on how I constructed the book and added in all the colors with mists on each page - the bones of the book have you.  When it was done it looked like a little briefcase!

Here is what one of the pages looked like before I added in all the embellishments.

I then let it all dry and added in some fun to each page with gems, stamps, ephemera, cards, mists, printed canvas, and so much more!!  Check out the video here!

Autumn Home Tour - Decor Tips

I got a chance to visit my mother's house and do a home tour of her fall and autumn decor.  She loves to decorate her house up (nothing like me, I am a minimalist) so I took advantage of this time to show you some of her tips and idea to decorate for the fall season.

Here is the full video home tour with all her fun ideas - mostly use the fall colors to your advantage.  It does not have to be a ton, but little bits and pieces here and there make a big impact.

Here some some up close shots of her decorating ideas.

In the video are a couple of fun projects I have made and gave to her.  Here are the links and pictures to these projects.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Clay Pumpkins for Home Decor **Makin's Clay & Beacon & Tattered Angels**

I love the idea of pumpkins out to decorate my house for the autumn season, but I am tired of buying them year after year and then all they do is rot and get smelly.  So I made made by own mini sized (about the size of baseball) clay pumpkins that will last for years to come.  Now I know I could go out and buy them, but I have not found any that I really like that are the small size, so I made them myself.

Here is a full video tutorial on how to make these fun pumpkins.

Christmas Cards 2016 - Set 1 **Brutus Monroe & Eyelet Outlet & Canvas Corp & Tattered Angels & Beacon**

I joined in on a Christmas Card swap to make 10 cards to mail off and receive 10 cards back - for more info on the swap please leave a comment and I can fill you in.  When doing a mini mass production of cards sticking with a simple concept and working with your supplies is always a plus. Here is my set of 10 cards for the swap.

All the cards have the same items on them except for the brad, that changed color and shape as the Eyelet Outlet pack was a variety pack of 12, so I still have 2 left!!  Working with a variety of 12x12 sheets of paper and cutting them up for layers is an easy way to use up what you have instead of having to go out and buy a ton of one paper pattern.  Here is my video tutorial on how to make these fun cards.

I used a lot of Canvas corp papers, and then some fun Brutus Monroe papers (by Canvas Corp), Raven Ink, mists, and stamp cleaner.

Here is the card with a gold ornament brad instead of the green one.

Time to start getting your cards ready, Christmas is just around the corner!!

Metallic Pendants **DCC Oct Hop - Amazing Castings**

I got this fun clear coast resin to play with and thought it would be great to make some metallic pendants of various sizes.  They can be used as an embellishments, worn as a pendant for a necklace, added to a top of a bookmark, really the possibilities are endless.

Here is the full video tutorial on how I made these fun pieces.

I got the resin from a company called Amazing Castings as part of the October Designer Crafts Connection blog hop.  Here is my unboxing video and a demo of both products I received.

Make sure to hop over to the DCC blog to enter into win a prize from Amazing Castings, just check out the prize!!

I played with the Rinea foil papers to help achieve the fun metallic look in each of these pendants.  it is an amazing paper like no other here in the USA, perfect for the look I wanted in these pendants.  Take a close look at them.

Using some left over bits of scrapbook and card supplies, metal fobs, metallic papers, and Eyelet Outlet pearls and gems the resin really turned these into special pendants.

Heat Embossed Halloween Treat Bags **Brutus Monroe & Canvas Corp & Beacon**

I love to make handmade gifts for my teachers, nothing big, but something to say thanks for helping my kids.  This year the teachers are getting heat embossed little paper bags with a Halloween stamp and a cute little Halloweeen clip I made (click here for tutorial).

I used the Canvas Corp small paper bags in black and heat embossed in Gilded Embossing powder with the Chuck Carson Halloween stamp line on 5 bags.  I then topped them off with a little Halloween clip I made earlier this season.  Here is the live Facebook video on how to make these fun bags with the supplies and close up pictures below.

Supplies Used for the Halloween Treat Bags

Look how that embossing powder just shines on the black paper bag!!

This idea of heat embossing on a bag works for any occasion, here I try out one of the new stamps from the Holiday Sentiment Stamp set to make a fun treat bag.  I use the Pinecone stamp from the Sketched Holiday Stamps set heat embossed with gilded embossing powder on white paper, fussy cut it out, and glued to a white clothespin clip.  Super easy to make thees little bags for any holiday, just change out the color of bag, stamp, and embossing powder!

Now your turn to stamp something to make it pretty!!
