DIY Etched Glitter Jewelry

I love to try new things, and combining etching with glitter, how fun!!!  I have a few little pieces of jewelry parts left from previous projects and had the earning to make something fun a new.

Here is a video tutorial on how to make this fun project.

I love the look of the etched glass against the glitter.  It looks so cool, almost like an opal!  This is the lighter blue glitter in the smaller setting.

Here is the darker glitter in the larger setting.  The Supertite All Purpose Glue is perfect for the project!  It allowed the glue to move the glitter around while the glass was placed on top, and set up amazing when dry!!

I love how easy it is to etch these glass pieces for the settings in the Etchal Dip n Each!!  Just drop it in for 15 minutes and done, so cool!!!

Tips on Planting New Potatoes in Raised Garden Beds

I love potatoes, they really go with anything.  They are yummy mashed, boiled, friend, roasted, and they might be my favorite food!  So on top of all that, they are so easy to grow!! Here are my tips for planting and harvesting red new potatoes.

Here is a detailed video from plaiting to harvest for these red new potatoes.

I started with a few potatoes from the last batch I harvested.  I think that is the best part of the whole potatoes growing process, use what is left over.  I keep them in a box and let them start growing a bit before planting.

Plant the potatoes starters in a mound of soil and let them grow!  make sure to give enough dirt in depth since the potatoes grows in the ground.  the deeper you give the plant to grow the better.  In about a month or so you will see a little plant shoot up!

Give it a little bit longer, about another 1-2 months and the plant gets even bigger!

You know it is time to harvest when the plant looks dead.  Use your hands or a small shovel to dig up the potatoes.

Wash them and enjoy!

Do you like potatoes?

Card Ideas & Tips for Cardmaking While Traveling

I love to craft, and when I travel I really miss my time creating.  So why not take the crafting with you?  The main problem is supplies, you need something small and compact and supplies that serve a variety of different purposes.

Some simple supplies you can use are a small book for coloring such as the Adornit Art Play coloring books.  Here are the supplies you need.

Here is a video and tips on how to make these fun cads while traveling.

They are perfect to color and make into card with the Derwent colored pencils.

One of the best ways to make cards is to color a pre-printed picture and add a simple line of washi tape and stick the cad down with a Xyron adhesive such as the Xyron Mega Runner.

Using a page out of the Derwent sketch book and coloring the edges with the pencils give a quick and easy background paper so you do not have to bring extra papers with you!  That little extra pop of color really makes a difference and makes it fun!

Next time you go traveling don't forget you can take a few crafty things with you to help pass the time, feed the itch, or just to relieve the stress of travel!

Thanks so much for stopping on by!

No Sew Felt Carrot Treat Bags Plus Mini Carrot Embellishments & Rainbow Carrots from my Garden

I love spring and all the fun colors and smells that come with the fruits and veggies that are starting to blossom.  One of my favorites is the carrots!  This inspired me to make some felt carrots treat bags that are fun for spring and even Easter!!

Here is a video on now easy and fun it is to make these cute carrots treat bags on the Kunin Felt channel.

There are some super simple supplies you need for this treat bag.
Kunin Corduroy Felt in Orange and Pirate Green
Glue
Pinking Shears
White Ric Rac
Paper
Pins

You can fill these fun treat bags with candies, other fun treats, or even stuff them with cotton for a cute plush carrot!!  You can also make them any size you wish just make the triangle the size of the carrot you want.

The carrots that inspired me to make these cute little bags came from my garden.  I planted the carrots back in October and they did amazing over the winter and are ready for harvest.  About a month ago I thinned out the little carrots, but they were big enough to eat too.

I let them grow a bit more and they were ready to harvest about a month later.  They are so sweet and crisp.  I actually still have a few let to pull, saving those for dinner this week!

Here is a video on how to plant, thin, and harvest rainbow carrots in a raised bed.

Do you like to do any gardening?

So back to the felt, I had a little left over from the treat bags so I thought why not make some little carrots perfect for scrapbooking, cardmaking, or planners.  I just make the same type of carrots but much smaller and only on one side.

Here is the video on how to make these fun little carrots!

What veggie would you make out of felt?

Mixed Media Altered Photowall Printed Canvas

I found this amazing printed canvas from Photowall and thought how cool would it be to alter it to make a one of a kind piece of art work?!?!  So I did just that!

Here is the video on how to assemble and how I altered this printed Photowall Canvas.

It all start with me picking out a fun canvas from Photowall and I fell in love with this graphic print, and there are so many to pick from, this is just one of hundreds.  You can even upload you own graphics and they will print it on canvas for you!!  You can also pick out the size you want it printed on.  I picked out a 50cm x 50cm print.  This is the print from the website I picked out called Tapestry Tiles 1.

It came delivered straight to my house (with FREE SHIPPING) and all I had to do was assemble it, which is really easy and I show you how on the the video.  Here is the best part, you can save 20% on any order thru April 29th 2018 using my special code at their website!!!

I decided I wanted to make this a one of a kind work of art, so with the grid system it made it super easy to add elements into the 9 grids.  I chose not to do all 9 squares, but stick to 5.  Each of the squares I filled would represent something, actually a person or a unit  - family.  Each square on the corners represents one of children.

First is my eldest Morgan.  He is amazing with numbers, but is a chaotic, so this tile is all about him

Next is my daughter Kristen.  She passed away a little over 9 years ago so the wings were perfect for her. She is my personal angel.

Next we have my son Brandon and he is my little bird who loves to fly.  He is so fast and tries to leave the nest and be on his own to keep up with his older brother.

Last we have my daughter Catherine.  She personally picked out the little fairy, and it is perfect since she is such a girly girl and loves to dress up and be a princess!

In the center of the canvas I made a single burlap square that represent the family.  We are all about love and being together.  I kept this section simple but powerful.

This became a very personal canvas to me, as I do not get to add all 4 of my children on a project a one time unless it is in the abstract.  This now hangs in my bedroom as a soothing pieces of art knowing that even though my children cannot be together physically they can be artistically.
